SSP Upendra Kumar Agrawal made a sudden visit to Indirapuram Police Station—one of the foremost police stations of Ghaziabad—and was unhappy over finding a huge array of vehicles in & around the Thana precincts. He gave orders to dispose of the seized vehicles kept in the premises in a time-bound manner.

The SSP’s visit took the staff by surprise. He checked the registers especially of chain snatchings and mobile recovery and on finding lesser mobile recovery instructed the staff to increase the recovery within a deadline and also to maintain a computerized record of such crimes.

The SSP also found several discrepancies in the investigations and found several pending cases. Expressing displeasure over a large number of pending cases and complaints he asked the SHO to speed up redressal in a qualitative manner and within a given time-span.

SSP Agrawal also asked the Indirapuram SHO to prepare an effective blueprint of action to tackle chain, wallet & mobile snatchings in the area and to put a lid on them. He asked the SHO to fix the responsibility of each SI and to show results failing which strict action will be taken.
