Avas Vikas SE urges DM to make NOC mandatory before registry of flats

Superintending Engineer SPN Singh, who is keen to put an end to future illegal constructions and to take action against the existing ones in Vasundhara said, that UP Avas Vikas is working on a plan to tackle the menace of such illegalities

GHAZIABAD: Vasundhara colony developed by Uttar Pradesh Housing Board or UP Avas Evam Vikas Parishad has been besieged by a spate of illegal constructions, that has led to senior engineers of the Pariahad thinking about how to take action against the illegal constructions and to stop newer ones. SPN Singh, Superintending Engineer (SE) of Ghaziabad circle (Vasundhara) who also holds the charge of Meerut in similar capacity is keenly looking at ways to put a lid on such illegal constructions. He told delhincrnews.in that builders are using the ignorance of buyers to sell them flats built on single unit plots that are illegal. He pointed out that plots were allotted to a number of persons for their own use and there s o rule to build flats on these plots and sell them to people.

According to Singh—who took additional charge of Vasundhara circle just about a month back—although illegal flats have been built & sold in several sectors of Vasundhara the Parishad engineers had got such flats sealed in the past, but builders and buyers have broken the seals and illegally started living in them.

However, Singh pointed out the main problem in putting an end to this illegal activity is due to the stamp department that is going ahead with registry of illegal flats and this leads the buyers to think that their purchase is legal.

Now Avas Vikas has suggested to the DM a way out wherein the stamp and registry department should ask for a NOC of Avas Vikas on sale of flats—especially those built on plots. SPN Singh said that as such flats are illegal no NOC could be handed out for such and this will forbid such a sale from taking place.
