Two battery thieves namely Dharmveer and Manish Agrawal, both Bulandshahar residents, were held by a team of Sahibabad Police Station from near Bhopura Intersection on Oct 29 at around 11.40 pm. The accused used to roam around the area in night and targeted cars parked in houses and colonies and isolated areas. Given the first opportunity the accused used to unbolt the batteries from vehicles to sell them off later on. This information was shared by SP City Shlok Kumar.

Twenty-one batteries of different companies, equipment used to unwind and unbolt the batteries, one pistol alongwith 2 live cartridges and one knife were recovered from the accused. One i20 car used in crime has also been seized.

Both accused are history-sheeters of Sahibabad Police Station and have at least 9 criminal cases registered against them.
