Three accused were arrested by a team of cops from Sahibabad Police Station from Bhopura Road for allegedly pushing 3 youths—who had come on a bike UP14 CY 1696 to Yamuna bridge in Delhi and had started bathing in the river—further up towards deeper waters in order to loot their valuables that they had kept in a bag before taking the plunge into the river, said SP City Shlok Kumar.  The police was on a look out for the 3 youths namely Sanjay Mishra, Sanjeev Pathak and Ritik who had been missing since Oct 12 and a complaint was filed in this regard at the Sahibabad Police Station. Their bike was found abandoned near Seelampur Metro Station.  

The 3 accused are Kishan Singh Negi, Ravi Garg alias Rinku and Mahesh Kumar. They told the police that they were already taking a bath in the river when they saw the 3 youths approaching. Reportedly, an altercation resulted between the 2 groups as they were allegedly drunk, said the police. Thereafter, the 3 accused allegedly pushed these youths into deeper waters at the spur of the moment and did not even check to see what happened to them. The police seized 2 mobiles, one bag and one belt- belongings of the victims.

A case under Section 364 (kidnapping or abducting in order to murder) has been slapped against the trio. Further probe is on.
