The Air Quality Index (AQI) of Delhi and NCR cities is hovering around troublesome levels and the situation is expected to turn worse unless wind is present. Ghaziabad and Anand Vihar in Delhi continue to be in the severe level. Main factor is the burning of stubble in & around Delhi in neighbouring states. An overall AQI of 367 was recorded, that is considered poor.

Faridabad, Gurgaon, Noida and Greater Noida recorded very poor air quality, besides 10 areas in Delhi namely Mundka, Anand Vihar, Ashok Vihar, Bawana, CRRI Mathura Road, DTU, Jahangirpuri, Mundaka, Narela, Punjabi Bagh and Rohini recorded severe pollution levels.

In Ghaziabad the district administration has put a ban on construction across the city till Nov. 10 and fines are being imposed on people violating the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) that is in force presently. The DM has also ordered sprinkling of water on construction material and on dust on public places.
