Yet again a crackdown by Sant Kabir Nagar Police led to seizure of 80 litres of illicit raw liquor in which regard 3 persons including a woman offender were nabbed. Mahuli police seized 70 litres from 2 accused namely Babloo and Budhmi. In another instance, Dhanghata police rounded up one accused Yashoda Devi with 10 litres of illicit liquor.
One accused Mohammad Aslam was arrested by Khalilabad police in a case dating back to Oct 3 in which the High Court had asked a piece of land to be free from encroachment. However the said accused tried to provoke a crowd and instigated them to throw stones at the government officials including one engineer that injured him.
Nine persons against whom warrants had been issued were arrested by Mehndawal police.
Cops namely constable Pravesh Yadav and driver Surya Nath Maurya who were on duty at PRV 3302 earned the tag of PRV of The Day after they reached a spot in 10 minutes where 2 groups of people were fighting.
