After the stoppage of Ganga water supply from Haridwar today for annual cleaning of Upper Ganga Canal (Gang Nahar), the Water Works Department of Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam (GNN) is gearing up to manage water supply in Vasundhara Zone by optimizing resources available with it. In this regard, the GNN has set up a Control Room to promptly respond to problems face by the residents in water supply in their areas, said Executive Engineer (EE), Anand Tripathi.

According to Anand Tripathi, to maintain round-the-clock water supply the department has made provisions of 20 water tankers to deal with problems of short supply. He also said that DG sets (generators) have been installed at deep borewells/ tubewells so that no problem in extracting and supply of water is faced during a power cut. Besides, all 10 HP mini tubewells have been activated to meet any exigency, he added.

The EE listed out the roaster for department’s engineers and the numbers on which they can be contacted in case of problems in water supply.
