Ghaziabad Police busted an inter-state gang of criminals belonging to ‘Chhara Caste’ running a ‘Thak-Thak’ gang. A team of Sihani Gate Police Station led by SHO Sanjay Kumar Pandey arrested the 9 accused after receiving a tip-off that few members of the gang were loitering around the Purana Bus Adda upon which the police promptly arrested the accused. This information was shared by SP City Shlok Kumar.

The accused Vishal, Surya, Sachin alias Lakhan, Pankaj, Ajay, Nilesh, Prafull, Rohit from Gujarat while Sunil is from Ghaziabad.

The gang members elaborating their modus operandi said that 8 of them hailed from Ahmedabad in Gujarat. They were active in many cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur, Alwar, Ahmedabad and Ghaziabad. The gang members used to gather around banks keeping an eye on people who withdrew large amounts of cash. Sometimes the gang members ripped the lock of the scooty the cash was kept in and other times when they saw that customers were getting away in their car the gang members used to surround the car and told these customers that oil was leaking from their car. As soon as the owners alighted from the car the gang members got away with their cash or belongings like laptops, wallets etc.

Sunil Singh who hosted the gang locally was given a fat sum of money by the gang members. The gang members separately have been to jail under various offences previously.

Police recovered Rs 1.5 lakh cash, 4 instruments used for breaking locks, 4 screw drivers for breaking scooty and bag locks and  one Alto car and one Apache bike.
