Three employees of a private firm hatched a plan to dupe their owner of Rs 19 lakhs by showing themselves as victims of loot in Sector 19 of Vasundhara in Indirapuram area, a plan that went awry after the police hounded the truth out. The 3 employees namely Amit Katiyar, Vishal Agnihotri and Wasim were jealous of their owner’s financial position, said a police source. The trio reported at Prahladgarhi Chowki that while they were en route to their office in Shakti Khand of Indirapuram, they were waylaid by 4 armed assailants near power sub station of Sector 19 and were looted of the cash they were carrying after withdrawing it from 2 banks in Vasundhara Sec 13.
SSP Vaibhav Krishna, ASP Ravi Kumar and SHO Sachin Malik reached the spot and started investigating the alleged crime.
The trio were travelling in a Swift car at the the time of alleged crime. Investigations brought forth that the trio had hatched the plan on August 6 and one of them Wasim had roped in his real and cousin brothers to commit fake loot. The full amount of Rs 19 lakh and a laptop was recovered from Wasim’s home by the police. The accused had planned to distribute the amount of Rs 6 lakhs each among themselves and would have paid Rs 1 lakh to the persons who came in the bike. The fake robbery was solved within 4 hrs.
