Haryana Police has arrested two persons in connection with an extortion case of demanding Rs. 50 lakh from an entrepreneur, Ashwani Panchal, a resident of Faridabad.      A spokesman of Police Department said that the accused were identified as Gurudutt and Anil. Both were working as Assistant General Manager and Deputy Manager in a private limited company in Noida. While Gurudatt is a distant relative of complainant, Anil, a native of Faridabad, is a friend of Gurudatt. They made an extortion call to Ashwani Panchal in the name of Goonj Gang and threatened him to arrange Rs 50 lakh or else they would kidnap his son. After the arrest they admitted making the extortion call.

He said that acting swiftly on the complaint of businessman, police set up a special team who nabbed Rahul and Sushil Purohit from Mujesar police station area in mobile snatching incident. In the initial interrogation, both accused revealed that they sold mobile phones to main accused of extortion call namely Gurudatt and Anil. Based on the information, police team immediately nabbed them.

Anil, the alleged mastermind behind the extortion plan was influenced by the  TV serials crime petrol, Savdhaan India and CID which encouraged him to make a plan for extortion call. First he bought a stolen mobile with SIM from Rahul and another from Gaffar Market, Delhi to mislead the police. The police also recovered a mobile phone from them. Both have been sent to jail
