Ganga water supply was again disrupted in trans-Hindon colonies of Vasundhara, Vaishali and others due to its closure from Haridwar, it was informed by Nigam. This led to no water supply on evening of July 18. Somendra Pratap Singh, Water Works official of Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam, Vasundhara Zone said that there is a possibility of Ganga water getting released again from Haridwar afternoon, and hence it would reach Pratap Vihar Plant late-night. That means the normal water supply can be restored only from July 20 onwards.

The closure is due to silt coming in water that happens during rainy season.
