Non-payment of last 4-month salary led a Power corporation contract employee to trump up a false story of loot that was caught by the police leading to his arrest. Cash and a laptop that he had kept with him were also recovered.
The accused Amit Choudhary had on July 9 called up dial 100 stating that he was travelling on his bike after taking Rs 3.5 lakh cash from a cash van and as he was going towards power sub station at Teela Mod he was intercepted by 2 bike borne youths on pipeline road near Nagla Ator village. The accused in his statement further said that the youths pointed a gun at him and took away cash, mobile, laptop and a chain as well as his bike.
Upon this a case was registered and investigation taken up. SHO Sihani Gate Sanjay Pandey and his team went to the alleged crime spot and spoke to several people and tried to gather evidence. After due checking it came to light that the accused had concocted the loot story. The accused has said that cash looted was collected on Friday and Saturday whereas the police found out that the cash for Friday was deposited in his agency’s account. Further, it was found out that the accused had kept the bike at his friend’s house and the laptop and cash were kept at his home. The accused had also spent Rs 2.92 lakhs towards his personal expenses.
On registering a false FIR the police took the accused into custody and have booked him under Section 182 of IPC pertaining to false information.
