One member of Eyes & Ears Scheme who is running a Pan Shop, stated that he had received some fake currency notes. He was suitably briefed to remain alert and if someone came again with fake currency, he should call local police at once. On July 6 at about 9.25 PM, one man arrived at his shop and gave him six notes of Rs. 100 denomination for purchasing 6 Gold Flake cigarette packets. When he checked the given notes, he found that all the six notes have a same number.
He immediately caught that person and made 100 No. call. ASI Vijay Dutt from Police Station Shakarpur arrived at the spot and the person was identified as Sanjay from Sector-3, Rohini, Delhi. During his search, 4 other notes of Rs. 100 bearing same number were recovered from his possession. On checking of his vehicle Activa scooty, 31 more fake currency notes of Rs. 100 also found having same number. In view of the above facts, a case FIR No. 302/2018 dated July 6, u/s 489-B IPC, at Police Station Shakarpur was registered.
Seized: 41 fake currency notes of Rs. 100 denomination bearing and an Activa scooty. Further investigations are on.
