Municipal Commissioner, Chandra Prakash Singh, once again today set out on a tour of the city so as to take stock of how the Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam (GNN) staff members are discharging their duties as well as to take public feedback.
Singh started his day at 7.30 am firstly visiting Kala Dham Park that is being upgraded under Amrut Yojana of the Centre. Singh found that the park was in a shabby condition with grass not cut and also devoid of cleanliness. This made him angry and he called up and hauled up the concerned firm and contractor for falling in line and to get the requisite work done within a set frame-work. He asked the horticulture officer to monitor the progress of beautification of the park.
Thereafter, Singh also passéd instructions to the said official to take assistance from the concerned RWA, members of public in beautification and maintenance of the area parks.
Parks in Chiranjeev Vihar area were being beautified by theme paintings for which Singh praised the efforts. The Municipal Commissioner also found flaws in cleanliness of roads and streets of Kavi Nagar Zone and directed the concerned sanitary officials to spruce up the area.
He also inspected the de-silting work of drains in the area and directed the staff to see that the silt does not fall into the drains again.
Chandra Prakash Singh came down hard on some dairy owners at Chiranjeev Vihar who were washing off the cow dung into the drains by using submersible pumps. Upon this he asked the concerned officials to impose a fine of Rs 20,000 each on the dairy owners. He also directed the area JE Somendra to issue notices to these dairy owners for wasting water by using submersible pumps and to further impose penalty on them.
Finally, Singh passed instructions to draw white strips of thermo-plastic paint on old and new roads of Kavi Nagar so that motorists could see better in the night.
