On occasion of World Environment Day today, Municipal Commissioner, Chandra Prakash Singh initiated a plantation drive at Surya Nagar, Chandra Nagar and Brij Vihar as well as at a park developed by Max Hospital, Vaishali.

All senior officials of the Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam (GNN) participated in the drive. Under this, green belts, roads, dividers and parks were cleaned up. Several residents also lent a supporting hand.

Broken dividers on the roads were asked to be repaired at once and Singh passed necessary instructions to the JE Civil works.

Doctors of Max also pitched in

Thereafter, Municipal Commissioner went to a park that was being developed by Max Hospital in Vaishali. Here, many doctors also chipped in and everyone present was sensitizes about the need for having more trees and greenery around them. A solar powered light installed by Max at Surya Nagar was also inaugurated on the occasion.

On finding the area littered by Aggarwal Sweets in Surya Nagar a penalty of Rs 20,000 was slapped on the owner.

Similarly in City Zone near Shahid Smarak Park a an electric showroom trader who was wasting underground water by running submersible was asked to pay up a fine. Singh instructed Health Officer and AMC Pramod Kumar to get the drains de-silted and to remove the debris after that the next day.
