District administration has partnered with Rural Electrification Corporation Ltd. through its CSR fund, to provide furnishings as well as smart board, solar lights & panels, RO water purifier, computers, among other related items for 15 primary schools and 5 upper primary government schools. DM Ritu Maheshwari had requested to provide a CSR grant of Rs 5 lakh per school amounting to a total of Rs 1 crore. CMD of REC and DM signed the MoU.  

REC tweeted “We are proud to extend our support to District Magistrate, Ghaziabad for the project ‘Development of model schools’ in Uttar Pradesh.  The project aims to improve infrastructure and provide quality education to primary and upper primary government schools.”

Another MoU, for establishment of an electric crematorium was also signed on the occasion. The said crematorium will come up along Hindon bank at a cost of Rs 1.46 crore. This initiative was taken up by Ritu Maheshwari herself and will help the cause of green Ghaziabad by reducing pollution levels.
