Municipal Commissioner, Chandra Prakash Singh today one again went on a tour of different areas of the city under Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam (GNN)’s jurisdiction.
Singh started early today at 5.30 am commencing his visit from Kavi Nagar Zone. He visited a public toilet built by Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) at RDC area and found water scarcity which he instructed to be resolved. He visited another ODF point toilet near Vivekanand Flyover that was found to be in order. Another public toilet was found to be having deficient services related to water and electricity. Upon this Singh was angry and he immediately called up the zonal chief and sanitation staff and asked that problem be resolved immediately.
A flour mill at Bulandshahar Industrial Area was found emptying sewer into a drain; upon knowing which the Municipal Commissioner asked the zonal chief and SFI to impose a penalty on the mill and to set the anomaly straight.
Singh also asked the staff to clean up Hapur Chungi area specially along the roads and green belts.
Under City Zone, Singh visited Sihani Garage area where he visited an ODF point as well as another public toilet. He also asked the sanitation supervisors to clean up the silt extracted from drains that had not yet been removed.
Next on his itinerary was Mohan Nagar Zone. He took stock of a Nigam toilet built near Katori Mill that was found to be in order.
He further visited Vasundhara Zone where he found heaps of dust and litter along green belts and main roads after the dust storm. He immediately instructed the staff to clean up the area.
He also called up the concerned Nigam staff to ensure that no laxity remains in maintaining routine cleanliness in their areas.
