YMCA University of Science and Technology, Faridabad has signed a MoU with National Small Industries Corporation Ltd. for imparting advance industry centric training progammes to its students in NSIC’s Technical Service Centre at Neemka in Faridabad. The MoU was signed by Dr. Vikram Singh, Dean (Academics Affairs), YMCA University and  Rajesh Kumar, Deputy General Manager, NSIC-TSC, Neemka in the presence of Prof. Dinesh Kumar, Vice Chancellor of the University. Dr. S.K. Sharma, Registrar, Dr. Rashmi Popli, Director, Industry Relations and Dr. Sanjeev Goyal, Director, Alumni and Corporate Affairs were also present on this occasion.

Speaking on this occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dinesh Kumar said that with this academic tie-up, the university aim is to impart skill based training to the student as per industry requirement which is necessary for employment. The industry requires students who are readily employable which would be possible only if they were trained as per industry requirements and students need to upgrade their knowledge as per technology demands, he added. Vice Chancellor also suggested to explore possibilities to introduce skill development programs under Community College run by the University in collaboration with NSIC-TSC.

Rajesh Kumar, Deputy General Manager, NSIC-TSC, Neemka apprised the officials of YMCA University that NSIC under Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) has been working towards promoting, aiding and fostering the growth of MSMEs in India and abroad and its Technical Service Centre at Neemka is set up with highly advance infrastructure to offer conventional to Hi-tech training and skill development requirement of learners to nurture them for employment and self-employment opportunities.

He informed that the Centre has testing facilities with advance and sophisticated machines for testing of chemical and mechanical properties of wide range of ferrous, nonferrous metals and alloys and specific material. Also, incubation facilities have also been provided in the Centre where hand holding support is provided to the students on variety of machines and projects and to help them to convert their ideas in becoming successful entrepreneurs, he added.
