The staff of AATS, Dwarka busted an inter-state gang of autolifters which was operating in Delhi NCR as a syndicate with expertise in stealing vehicles on demand and quick disposal of stolen vehicles, either by selling them in places like Aligarh, Bulandshahar and Gautam Budh Nagar in U.P. or by completely dismantling them. Twenty one stolen vehicles including 03 cars and 18 two-wheelers have been recovered from their hide outs in Aligarh, Bulandshahr and Gautam Budh Nagar in U.P. Recovered cars include Swift Dzire, Esteem and Wagon R. The arrested accused are namely Braham Singh, 40 from Sikandrabad, Bulandshahr, Dinesh Kumar alis Painter, 44, resident of Khurja, Bulandshahr, Mukeem alias Bhura of Jewar, Gautam Budh Nagar, and, Ashok alias Bhura, 25, resident of Dadri, Jarcha, Gautam Budh Nagar.

 

The staff of AATS/ DWD, under the leadership of Inspector Raj Kumar and close supervision of ACP/ Operations, Somendra Pal Tyagi had been developing information on a gang of autolifters which had become a menace in Delhi NCR and primarily in districts of West Delhi. Several sources were deployed to track and identify the autolifters of this syndicate which had gained expertise in auto-lifting and their quick disposal.

During the course of investigation technical surveillance of suspected gangs of auto-lifters was mounted and informers were deployed. On May 3, acting on an information provided by the secret informer, a trap was laid near Metro Pillar No. 742, Gulab Bagh, Uttam Nagar-Najafgarh Road and one motor cyclist was intercepted. The motor cyclist could not produce any document of the vehicle. On verifying from records, the motor cycle was found to be stolen. The rider Braham Singh was arrested in the case and on sustained interrogation he disclosed to be involved in more than 100 incidents of MV thefts in Delhi NCR and selling stolen vehicles in Aligarh, Bulandshahr and Gautam Budh Nagar in U.P. He was produced before the court and his police custody remand was obtained. During his PC remand, raids were conducted at shops / godowns of receivers of stolen motor vehicles in Aligarh, Bulandshahr and Gautam Budh Nagar in U.P. Total 21 stolen vehicles including 3 cars and 18 motor cycles were recovered from hideouts of co-accused receivers, Dinesh Kumar, Mukeem and Ashok.
