In spirit of April as an Autism Awareness Month, Pure Hearts (a children’s initiative dedicated to help children in need) hosted an evening of music and dance to celebrate “Diversity of Life” through “Sapno ki Udaan 2018” an event held on April’ 27 at DLF Cyberhub in Gurugram. It was organized in association with DLF Cyberhub, as per a press statement.
This event received much applause and brought the whole of Gurugram together. Renowned schools, NGOs, performing artists and young children showed their relentless support to raise consciousness and sentiments towards acceptance and inclusion of children living in Autism into the mainstream of the society.
The occasion was graced by the Deputy Mayor, Sunita Yadav, who inaugurated the event by lighting a lamp while a symphonic instrumental played in the background by Divyadrishti Parivar. This was followed by “Prarthana” by Vishwas Foundation, Odissi dance performance by special children of NGO A.L.P.A.N.A and rejoicing “Giddha” dance by Sanshil Foundation kept the evening vibrant, happy and cheerful. Mime on Autism by Lotus Petal Foundation got a standing ovation from the crowd. Overall, a beautiful amalgamation of music, dance and celebration with so many children participating from different NGOs and crowd rejoicing with them on the stage, was a depiction of the true essence of the evening.
The highlight of the evening was the participation of nine schools from Gurugram, namely – DPS Sushant Lok, DPS International, Heritage Xperiential Learning School, Pathways World School (Aravali & Gurgaon), Shiv Nadar School, The Shri Ram School (Aravali & Moulsari) and Vega Schools. Each school gave a heart touching and mesmerizing performance. Renowned artists like the Desi Roots, Rasik Performing Arts and The Limited Experience filled the atmosphere with excitement and enthusiasm. Their live performances received huge applause. The event ended with National Anthem in sign language presented by deaf mute children of Sarthak Educational Trust.
This year, the event was a reflection of our augmented support towards Autism awareness and our belief in spreading the message of “acceptance, understanding and love” to make our society more sensitive and compassionate towards this noble cause.
