Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam (GNN) has tied up with Sri Sri Rural Development Program (SSRDP), a Trust, to start an Organic Waste Management/Composting Centre that will convert the waste at Jatwara vegetable market into compost that will be sold to farmers, nursery owners and citizens. The GNN has entered into an accord with SSRDP for this purpose and has provided 500 sq. yard of land with tin sheds where the Trust will install a organic waste composting machine that will convert 1,-5,000 kg of waste into compost. The cost of this machine is Rs 1 lakh.

Municipal Commissioner, CP Singh and UP Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna- who was in Ghaziabad today-also took stock of the scheme today.
