In yet another coordinated effort of police in Ghaziabad under the leadership of young SP City Akash Tomar, the staff of Khoda Police Station arrested an active member of the dreaded Anil Dujana gang, namely Arun Kumar, who hails from a village in GB Nagar. A 9 mm pistol and 3 live cartridges were recovered from his possession. SP City informed that this prized catch was one example of the ‘good work’ of the area police. The accused was arrested on March 10 from below Hindon Canal Flyover on the canal stretch near NH-24 in Khoda area.

The accused Arun Kumar was an absconder in a case of murder in which out of 18 wanted persons, 17 accused are behind bars already.

It might be recalled that in the year 2013, the accused persons had shot to death one Narendra Sharma in a property dispute, in which the dreaded Anil Dujana was also named as an accused. The victim’s brother Kuldeep was being pressurized by Dujana’s henchmen not to testify against him. On refusal Dujana decided to bump off Kuldeep and sent his men to kill him, but on not finding him they fired on his father Rajkumar in which he alongwith a police constable—deployed for his security—were killed. Since then the accused Arun Kumar had been absconding. In 2017 a reward of Rs 25,000 was declared on his head and the police department was in the process of raising this reward limit to Rs 50,000, but before that could happen he was arrested by a team of Khoda cops led by Inspector Dhruv Bhushan Dubey.

The accused has been booked under at least 4 different cases. He has previously been to jail on attempt to rape charges and on threatening to kill.

SP City Tomar said that the city police will continue to keep up to the task of apprehending criminals and preventing them from committing crimes.
