It started as a simple concept of unifying private engineering into a single exam 3 years ago. With 150 plus institutions and 25 universities accepting scores and upwards of 1,25,000 students giving an online exam, ComedK-Unigauge in 2018 has become the second largest multi-university private engineering exam in India. With a reach of 140 cities and 400 test centres it has grown in strength over the 3 years, claimed a press statement.
“The vision for 2020 is to be the single credible, neutral, common entrance test exam for at least 100 private universities and 300 colleges in India, offering at least 50,000 engineering seats, thereby minimising the number of tests for students,” says P. Muralidhar CEO, ERA Foundation, as per the statement.
For the current year COMEDK UGET and Uni-GAUGE E entrance exam will be held on May 13, 2018 as combined examination for the admission to engineering BE/B.Tech courses. The exam will be conducted online at over 150 cities and 375 test centres across India, the press note further said.
Karnataka has been a pioneer in engineering education and ComedK has brought together private colleges of Karnataka onto a single platform. ComedK institutions have been promoting the cause of engineering aspirants for the last 13 years. This year participant colleges have announced scholarships for deserving students” says Dr Kumar, Executive Secretary COMEDK.
Private and deemed universities in India will accept the COMEDK and Uni-GAUGE scores this year for admission to BE/B.Tech programs at their respective institutions and universities. Students interested in reputed private universities associated with the COMED K and Uni-GAUGE can apply for the entrance exam, claimed the press statement.
The entire application and exam process will be online.
