Delhi Police is organizing Police Week since Feb. 16, 2018 (Raising Day). During the week, different kinds of activities/programmes are being organized by different districts/ units of Delhi Police. In this sequence, doctors/officials of Red Cross Society of India, LNJPN Hospital and Dr. Hedgewar Arogya Sansthan were liaised to organize blood donation camp for police personnel willing to donate blood and with the help of these organizations a Blood Donation Camp has been organized at DCP/PCR office Complex, Model Town-II, Delhi on Feb. 20, 2018.
DCP/PCR motivated the staff of PCR Unit for the noble cause. The staff was educated about the importance of blood banks in medical emergency cases and the contribution of an individual by donating blood for saving lives. As a result of this motivation, around 500 police personnel including 25 women staff of different zones & offices of PCR Unit participated in the blood donation camp.
Before donating the blood, every donor was put to the preliminary medicaPolice weel tests like BP, Hb, and Weight etc. The donors were offered a Donor’s Card with a validity of one year facilitating therein to provide free blood to every donor and their family member, if required. The camp continued for the whole day. The doctors/officials of Red Cross Society, LNJPN Hospital and Dr. Hedgewar Arogya Sansthan appreciated the enthusiasm of the police officials who participated in this noble cause wholeheartedly.
