In a major statement made today by the District Magistrate (DM) Ghaziabad, Ritu Maheshwari, she said that the state government aims to provide education to government school students that will be better than that provided in private schools. She said this at a government run school in Vaishali Sector 5 while addressing a parent teacher meeting (PTM).
Maheshwari said that the government has decided to hold PTMs at government schools up to Class 8, so that the parents get to know the level of education of their students and necessary corrective action can be taken by all stakeholders. Such meetings, the DM pointed out, have been organized today in all 597 such schools in the district and will help in getting feedback about the quality of education imparted to children as well as the learning curve of the kids.
The DM also remarked that parents should also take advantage of the assistance being doled out in government schools, such as free books, socks, uniforms, mid-day meals, among other facilities.
