The Delhi Metro Police arrested two accused for stealing belongings and mobile phones of people boarding the Metro. Teh accused are namely Abdul Shahid alias Asif of Daryaganj, Delhi, aged-28 years; and, Aashu aged-24 years.

 

The complainant Krishan Chand Yadav is working in a private company at Faridabad, Haryana. On Feb. 7, he was on way to his office from Metro Station Anand Vihar. After boarding the Metro, two persons who were standing adjacent to the complainant, stole mobile phone from his pocket. However, both the accused persons were apprehended by the complainant with the help of other passengers. Later, they were handed over to the police. The stolen mobile phone was also recovered from his possession. Accordingly, a case was registered at Police Station-Yamuna Depot Metro.

Sustained interrogation of accused persons was made. During interrogation, it surfaced that accused persons were previously involved in the cases of theft, robbery etc. and were committing thefts at Metro Stations. It has also come to notice that accused Asif did not disclose his real name just to disguise his identity of a known criminal. He is a Bad Character (BC) of Police Station-Jama Masjid, Delhi. His real name is Abdul Shahid.
