UP CM Yogi Adityanath yesterday announced that 100 differently-able (divyangjan) would be given motorized tricycles in all 80 Lok Sabha constituencies in Uttar Pradesh. The Cm directed that a universal identity card be made for such persons and a committee be formed as well as camps should be organized every Monday. Yogi Adityanath also distributed tricycles and wheelchair to 14 differently-abled persons. Also, 4,115 senior citizens were handed out 7,072 equipment worth Rs 2.21 crores. He also dwelled upon the subject of pension to these people that he said has been raised to Rs 500 per month from Rs 300 earlier, as well as reservation of 4% in place of earlier 3%.
Yogi Adityanath also spoke about the issue of Japanese Encephalitis in eastern Uttar Pradesh—which he said was responsible for people becoming divyanag. On this occasion Union Minister Thaawar Chand Gehlot said that all divyang persons will be given universal I-cards that will have recognition all over the country.
