The Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Delhi, Anil Baijal yesterday cleared the proposal of flagship scheme of Delhi Govt pertaining to doorstep delivery of services to residents, such as issue of license, water connection, ration card, among others.
The said proposal had become the bone of contention between the LG and the CM after it was disapproved by the LG’s office that led CM Arvind Kejriwal to say that it was a huge setback. However, the LG has now approved the pilot project and had asked CM Arvind Kejriwal to plug some deficiencies in the proposal that involves digital doorstep delivery of as many as 40 services from applying online to delivery.
LG Baijal has said that to access these services internet kiosks need to be set up by entrepreneurs and the CM reportedly had promised to abide by the LG’s opinion.
CM Arvind Kejriwal has thanked the LG for the decision.
