National Security Guard, popularly known as “The Black Cats” is organising “8th All India Police Commando Competition-2018 from Jan 13-20, 2018 at NSG Campus, Manesar (Gurugram). All the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) which include BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSB, NSG and Assam Rifles, RPF and State Police Forces from Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, J&K, Karnataka, Tamilnadu, West Bengal, Kerala, Maharashtra, Odisha, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Uttarakhand are participating in the competition. A total of 25 teams are attending the competition. The six days competition would mainly include Cheeta Run with 1.3 kms run, obstacle course and 2.4 Kms run, Black Hawk Firing, Chakravyuh (Rural) and Chakravyuh (Urban).
General Bipin Rawat, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, Chief of the Army Staff graced the occasion as the Chief Guest of the inaugural ceremony of the Competition on January 13, 2018. Senior officers of CAPFs, NSG and from various state police forces/departments attended the impressive function.
Sudhir Pratap Singh, IPS, Director General, National Security Guard welcomed the Chief Guest and high officials/dignitaries attending the ceremony and expressed his gratitude to General Rawat and other dignitaries for sparing their valuable time. Sudhir Pratap Singh expressed that the NSG being a World Class Zero Error Force has not only developed its operational capability by conducting joint exercises with police forces of various foreign countries and CAPFs and state police forces of the country but has also put in tremendous efforts in capacity building of the CAPFs and state police forces.
Subsequently, General Rawat inaugurated the 8th All India Commando Competition-2018. All 25 teams performed March past and gave salute to the Chief Guest. Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the competition, General Rawat appreciated the efforts being made by the NSG, Central Armed Police Forces and State Police Forces for their capacity building, which have not only proved them powerful among the Forces across the world but also kept the Nation’s Flag flying high.
