Vasundhara colony’s Sector 16-B, Central Market came under the hammer of reportedly UP Housing Board or Avas Vikas. A few of the traders who have been doing business here with valid shops had extended them a bit further up (by constructing tin sheds). These tin sheds were today pulled down reportedly by a team of Avas Vikas officials, it was alleged.
One trader who did not wish to be named said that they were in every way ready to cooperate with the housing body, but the Avas Vikas should also take action against those shops—in the vicinity—that are illegally being run in/from residences.
It is to be noted, that just a stone’s throw distance from the Sec. 16 Central Market several shops are running from residential complexes but have escaped the eyes of authorities—nobody knows why and how? If the Avas Vikas is really serious about anti-encroachment drive it should first seal all such illegally running shops before laying their hands on encroachments in front of valid shops and commercial complexes said another trader. A popular eatery was among those who were affected by this drive.
However, strangely no Avas Vikas official from the engineering wing received the phone when contacted at its Vasundhara office. After a call was made to the helpline of Avas Vikas in Lucknow by delhincrnews.in the person who received the call said that as the office gets over by 5pm, no official would pick the phone now. Senior officers are being apprised of this fact.
