With the arrest of two accused persons namely Mohd Sajid, resident of Qasim Vihar, Loni, Ghaziabad UP aged 20 years, and Rahul alias Nonu, resident of Inaam Vihar, Loni, Ghaziabad UP aged 20 years, staff of PS Karawal Nagar has solved snatching case and recovered one motorcycle & one mobile phone from their possession.
On January 7, at around 1.05 pm, one woman, wife of Ranjan Sharma was passing through street opposite Navyug School, Mukund Vihar, Karawal Nagar her mobile phone make REDMI Note 4 was snatched by two boys riding on a motorcycle. The complainant chased the snatchers motorcycle by taking lift from one passerby. However, the snatchers managed to escape leaving their motorcycle make Hero Splendor bearing registration, after they met with a minor accident while fleeing. A case at PS Karawal Nagar was registered and investigation was taken up.
It was found that the snatchers were caught in a CCTV footage. Further, the motorcycle found registered in the name of one Hasnain Ahmad, resident of Nehru Vihar, Delhi. The said address was searched but no such person was found residing there. The further investigation revealed that an auto loan exists against the said motorcycle. The guarantor of said loan was Mohd. Saleem of Loni Ghaziabad UP. The guarantor was contacted and it came to know the said motorcycle was purchased by his father and he has gifted the same to his son-in-law namely Javed, son of Mohd Sabir.
Upon this information, the said address was visited and Javed was examined. He informed that his younger brother Mohd. Sajid aged 20 years had taken the said motorcycle on January 7, who claimed that the said motorcycle has been stolen from Qasim Vihar. Mohd. Sajid was also examined and it was found that his appearance was similar to one of the snatchers captured in CCTV footage. Upon sustained interrogation he confessed his involvement in the crime. Rahul was also apprehended and the snatched mobile phone has been recovered from his possession. The duo further confessed that they are new to crime and was caught first time, although they have committed several such incidents. So far, they have confessed their involvement in four more such cases.
