The Minister for Urban Development, Govt of UP, Suresh Khanna today took a meeting of top district officials of the district and directed them to make available the benefits of various schemes of the government to the people, in an efficient manner. Khanna said that any negligence on this matter will be dealt with strictly and action will be taken against the irresponsible officers.
Khanna pointed out that the UP Govt is making provisions for providing various amenities in the areas of health, drinking water, agriculture and housing for the common man and the rightful beneficiaries should be able to access these easily. He was particularly keen on making sufficient and clean water available to every person in the district and he directed the officials to complete all ongoing water projects on time. Chief Development Officer, Ramesh Ranjan apprised the minister that 10 water related projects were underway in the district out of which 4 have been completed. He said that there were a total of 31 water related projects functional in the district.
DM Ritu Maheshwari apprised the minister about various ongoing developmental projects in the district. She said that under the ‘CM Samuhik Vivah Yojana’, a monetary benefit amounting to Rs 35,000 is given to brides of poor families and exhorted the ‘public representatives’ present in the meeting, to popularize this scheme among the poor in the area they represent. Applications under this scheme are open till January 11, she added.
SSP HN Singh apprised the minister on law & order situation in the district.
Earlier, the Urban Development Minister directed senior engineers of the urban local bodies to make clean and sufficient water available to every household in the district at the earliest.
Municipal Commissioner, Chandra Prakash Singh informed the minister that about 39,379 light installation points have been replaced by LED bulbs. He said that 463 drains have been cleaned up by the Nigam staff and door-to-door garbage collection has begun in 69 wards of the city. Khanna instructed the officials to achieve the target of 100% house tax in the coming fiscal.
MLAs, Sunil Sharma, Manju Siwach, Mayor Asha Sharma and other officials were present in the meeting.
