Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University signed a MoU with ICDL. International Computer Driving license is the international standard for end-user computer skills. Headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, it is the world’s largest digital skills certification programme with over 15 million candidates certified to date in over 100 countries. The MoU is signed to provide digital literacy in all sectors defined by HVSU in its vision document.
On the occasion of signing the MoU, Vice Chancellor, Raj Nehru said that this partnership will contribute significantly to the digital literacy mission of the state in various sectors IT/ITES, Agriculture, BFSI, Health, Sports and Security. He said that though there is huge digital divide in the state but recently digital awareness has gained up in the country. There is need of structured skilling and paradigm shift and HVSU is committed to bring a socio educational change in the society to empower the youth of the State.
Tina Wu (General Manager – ICDL Asia) shared that it is a proud moment to be associated with India’s government first skill university. She shared that ICDL has already training worldwide including Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and in India their focus would not only on IT professionals rather it is also to reach the various other non IT sectors to enhance the digital skill. Sayem Mehmood (Country Head – ICDL India) thanked Vice Chancellor and shared that the pilot projects under the MoU would be implemented on fast track.
Dr. Jatinder Singh from PHD chamber of Commerce with other dignitaries from PHD also graced the occasion and said that such initiatives can be very helpful for the MSME sectors. Dr Sunil Gupta registrar of the HVSU in his vote of thanks appreciated the efforts by all stakeholders and said he is hopeful that we would be able to achieve the objective of redefining the skill eco system of the State with such great team efforts. The event was attended by Ms. Saher Mahmood (Head of Communication & Advocacy – ICDL India), Divya Sharma (Project Coordinator – ICDL India), Nisha singh from MEPSC Manish kumar from CII, Jitendra Rourtray from Renew and HVSU officials.
