Bhartiyam- a not-for-profit organisation, along with SG School management Vasundhara is organising a modified version of football tournament on November 16-17, where 6 players-a- side teams participate. This concept is fast becoming popular in India too where the size of the ground is small alongwith the span of the game- that is also of shorter duration, to give it more intensity.

R.R. Khanna & Capt. S.K.Suneja both Directors of SG School in Vasundhara are supporting sports especially mini football format since long. They said: “Now through Bhartiyam Sports Trust, we specially plan something different for youngsters and assure that our association with sports will help to boost sportsman skills in-between youths of Delhi NCR and specially players of our area.

Ashu Gupta (Ex-International taekwondo player of India) from Bhartiyam’s Sports trust said that after a last tournament in Delhi-NCR, for this year a fresh series will start and after Ghaziabad similar series will be held in Noida, Gurgaon, Faridabad and Delhi- North etc, in next 3 – 4 months. According to him, through this Delhi-NCR series, we are trying to shortlist players for some big zonal, North India, national and international 6-a-side football tournament. “In last 10 months, our organization had conducted 7 domestic in India & 3 international tournaments in global arena,” he added.

Shashi Suneja, Principal SG School informed that on November 16-17 tournament will begin around 9 am and will continue upto 2.30 pm. “We are expecting good turnout of teams from various schools, RWAs, clubs & academies from entire Delhi-NCR cities such as Ghaziabad, Noida, Greater Noida, Delhi, Meerut, Gurgaon, Soniput & Bagput, Manesar, among others.”

Pradeep (Technical in-charge) informed that this is is a knock-out tournament for U-14 & U-18 boys and girls and teams shall play with minimum 6 player + 3 rolling as substitutes that is compulsory. The playing time will be 20 minutes, for both boys & girls team.
