The district administration has started a scheme to revive the single screen cinema halls in the city that have shut shop after the mall and multiplex culture hit their margins. Under the revival scheme such cinema owners are being given an option to demolish the old structure and in its place design a new commercial complex with a cinema hall having all modern amenities in place. Secondly, the cinema hall owners can also go on for remodeling the entire structure from inside into a modern one. The cinema owners will also have an option to start them without making any changes—if they so desire.

In addition, cinema halls with a seating capacity for 125 people with or without commercial spaces—can also start functioning. The interested cinema hall owners of Ghaziabad can contact the entertainment tax office to avail themselves of the benefits of this scheme.
