Pakistan’s Prime Minster Nawaz Sharif has been asked to step down by the Supreme Court of Pakistan over allegations of corruption. Sharif is expected to follow suit soon. Some reports coming out of Pakistan said that Nawaz Sharif would not be able to contest an election ever in his lifetime. Pakistan’s military has been watching over the court;s proceedings and there is a fear that again the political situation in the country can take a dramatic turn.

The 3 member panel of judges gave the ruling aginst Nawaj and 3 of his children on the disclosures made in Panama Papers according o which his children had amassed huge property in the UK through offshore companies.

His exit would benefit his staunch critics and cricketer turned politician Imran Khan the most, the reports said.
