Delhi: On April 6 midnight Delhi Police got a call that a person is mercilessly beating his wife in the area of Sawada, Ghevra under Kanjhawla Police Station. The call was marked to PCR Van which promptly reached the place of incident within two minutes but the address given by the caller was incomplete. The PCR staff searched for the spot and succeeded in locating the house after a while. However, the door of the house was found locked and there was no response from the occupants on knocking at the door. This created suspicion; so the PCR staff took help of the neighbours and entered the house through the roof of the neighbouring house. Inside the home a female was found unconscious and severely injured. She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital but the doctor at the hospital expressed his inability to treat her due to severe head injuries. Then the injured lady was immediately shifted to Jaipur Golden Hospital for treatment.
In the meanwhile, at about 1 am another call was received that the husband of the injured had left with intention to commit suicide. The call was marked to PCR Van which immediately rushed and trace him and prevented him from taking the extreme step. The man was found walking on a railway track. On seeing the police he started running on the track but was apprehended soon after. He was found to have consumed alcohol. He was counseled by the PCR staff and handed over to the local police. The Delhi Police has decided to reward the PCR staff for their prompt response.
